LR: I never can remember my dreams! I did have one in sepia though.

LR: outside on our stoop- it is street theater at its best

Inspiration for your Spring 09 collection?
LR: The Lela Rose 2009 collection is literally Out of Africa by way of 10021. Inspiration came from the kaleidoscope of colors, prints and shapes found in African tribal wear, yet staying true to a feminine aesthetic. The effortless style of twisting and tying of Mende tribe women’s headdresses inspired a woven faille wrapped dress cinched with a cotton embroidered tapestry belt.

If you weren't a designer, what would you be?
LR: I would run a home made ice cream shop

LR: wake up- the show is at 10:00 every year so I have to be there pretty early (7:45)
